Our Garden to Plate social program for youth sees participants engaging in growing their own veggies and herbs along with meal planning and cooking with the produce they grow.
The program has a combination of outcomes including social engagement, basic gardening and horticulture skills and life skills such as meal planning, cooking, budgeting, shopping and other social skills.
Participants will: Improve health and wellbeing through nature, nutrition, cooking, food and wellbeing activities Get outdoors and join in social activities with like-minded people Learn basic landscaping and horticulture skills Participate in community activities Youth and young adult programs available The garden to Plate group runs on Tuesday mornings from 9:30am to 12:30pm at Burleigh Heads Hub and the Varsity Veggies community garden.
