Spectrum Connect Youth Groups

About

Spectrum Connect runs Youth Groups for Autistic Kids aged 7 to 13 years.

We provide a supportive space where kids can be themselves, make friends and try new things.

Each week we have a different focus entertainment which give the kids a chance to have shared experiences.

Activities include things like cooking weeks, Lego building, karate lesson, gardening, painting and all sorts of other experiences.

But no one is forced to participate if they do not want to.

We have plenty of other things to do at the meetings if the entertainment that week doesnt grab the kids interests.

The meeting halls are set up with various spaces the kids can use.

There are areas for quiet sensory breaks, for high energy burn offs, for artistic or quiet play breaks, and then the area for the focus entertainment each week.

Our supportive staff support the kids at a ratio of one member to every 4 kids to ensure they can help facilitate the kids in their participation.

We currently have three venues that operate weekly.

Monday's we're Fulham Community Centre.

Tuesday's Surrey Downs Community Centre.

Wednesdays we're Cumberland Park Community Centre.

And Thursdays we're Reynella Neighbourhood Centre.
